The United Nations Security Council has voted unanimously to demand a 90-day humanitarian ceasefire across all active Middle East conflict zones. Resolution 2777 also includes provisions for increased humanitarian aid access and the release of detained civilians.
The resolution was welcomed by Iran and Lebanon but met with reservations from Israel, which pledged to continue operations against what it termed “terrorist infrastructure.”
